The Shed was until recently a derelict farm storeroom and workshop, transformed with rammed earth walls, corrugated extensions and generous openings onto a gravel courtyard under established trees, overlooking rolling lawns.

The Lapa

On the site of the old farm house, with sweeping sunset views across the Cradle, the LAPA is an open-sided covered space featuring wood, gravel and rammed earth produced in community with local artisans and labour.

Guests enjoy the calm ambiance with convenient access to the pool and gardens.

Joe's Boma

Our local building team has developed the invaluable skill of dry-stack rock-walling, used extensively to protect the vegetable gardens from our wild friends of the Veld.

These skills are augmented with rammed earth to create Joes BOMA,
where an independent field kitchen with woodfired oven, assada and harvest table serves grills, pizzas, roasts and fresh vegetables from the adjoining garden
to guests congregating round the fire in winter or luxuriating under the Olives in summer.

Guest chefs are invited to take over the BOMA for special occassions.
