COMMUNITY
Fostering community is at the root of our purpose.
The Kromdraai Valley is increasingly a model for responsible development, integration, inclusion and fostering hope.
Ubuntu Queens
Ubuntu Queens
The UBUNTU QUEENS are a group of 30 girls from the nearby informal settlement, Ptn26, where opportunities are limited, and access to facilities and potential employment is severely restricted.
The Queens regularly participate in a variety of social impact initiatives with NIROX and FARMHOUSE58, inspiring and connecting with artists, guests, and staff, fostering mutual understanding through inclusivity.
Running With Tom
In the heart of the Cradle of Humankind, a remarkable journey has organically unfolded. Initiated by ThomasNkuna a man of many talents, including renowned 13 time comrades marathon lead runner and head landscaper at FARMHOUSE58, RUN with TOM invites you to join hands in this community initiative. Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of this ancient place, our initiative resonates with warmth and optimism, inspired by the hearts and promise of boys from the Kroomdraai Valley, in particular the underserved informal and on-farm settlements.
A sport that has low barrier to entry, contributes to physical and mental wellbeing and builds relationships amongst participants and the environment. RUN with TOM is hosted and supported by FARMHOUSE58, led by Lesego Mapeka who manages experiences on the property - ‘These young spirits, ignited by an insatiable passion for running, have discovered a path under Toms guidance that not only winds through nature's wonders but also weaves a tapestry of unity and belonging.’ says Lesego.
As their feet tread where humanity's story began, the boys embrace the earth's history, the vibrant landscapes and the spirit of support and inclusion that RUN with TOM gives them. Each run is an expedition, a chance to dig deeper, and a reminder that they are part of something more – the Cradle of Humankind - more than home, more than a World Heritage Site – it's a sanctuary where dreams take flight
